Loyola’s very own theatre department presents Alice by Heart, a modern day Alice in Wonderland story that many can relate to.
Whether you are sewing, on makeup, or wardrobe, when the world is your stage, there is nothing that can’t be done. For many actors, costumes play a major role in the portrayal of their character.
“It kind of helped me a lot to get into that mindset because yes you can be a good actor, but once you’re physically in the costume, I feel like something shifts.” said cast member Layah Chouest.
Costumes often give them their final boost when it’s time to hit the stage. Hours of preparation and execution are necessary when working behind the scenes or on the stage. It truly takes a team to make all of the magic happen.
“You get to realize that wonderland is a form of escapism for many of the characters because their reality is they are in a war”, said Chouest.
Alice by Heart will take the stage on March 26th through March 29th in the Lower Experimental theater. Be sure to check out Alice by Heart and stay tuned for more on Loyola’s theatre department through their Instagram and other socials.
